Soak in the Llanos’ sceneries, sunrises’ colours and the sounds of nature at night in the hammock and sample the local food across six different farms, listen to tales and legends by the fire at night... an epic Llanos cowboy adventure.
the final sundowner listening to Llanos’ tales and music under the traditional palm roof of
Finca La Independencia, this trek provides three days of riding and discovering the local life
in Los Llanos.
*Our horses – all local breeds – are gentle yet forward going, well behaved and perfectly
trained, loved by novices and experienced riders alike.*
We enjoy the sunrise's colours and the birds' cackling at the first farm as we lasso the horses to ride across pastures and tropical forests. We spend the morning exploring two farms and reach the third farm in the afternoon. Having saddled off the horses, we hang up our hammocks for the first night and set out on foot into the gallery forest to spot monkeys, parrots and other wildlife at dusk.
Early we set off for a short ride to the fourth farm. Here we have breakfast by a river pond surrounded by beautiful moriche palm trees. We explore the large farm's diverse vegetation - great parts of which are untouched - and the wildlife on horseback before reaching the fifth farm for lunch, for a sunset ride in the afternoon and a gathering around the fire in the evening to hear tales from the Llanos.
The last stage of our epic riding tour takes us across a sixth farm, a cattle ranch of open savannas, before we eventually reach Finca La Independencia, the largest of the seven farms and rich in fauna and flora. We cross rivers, lagoons, prairies and gallery forests before reaching the finca's main house for some well-deserved refreshments and a musical and cultural Llanero show under the cooling palm roof. As the sun sets we are already reminiscing of a view days in the saddle!
