Soak in the Llanos’ sceneries, sunrises’ colours and the sounds of nature at night in the hammock and sample the local food across different farms, listen to tales and legends by the fire at night... an epic Llanos cowboy adventure.
the final sundowner listening to Llanos’ tales and music under the traditional palm roof of
Finca La Independencia, this trek provides three days of riding and discovering the local life
in Los Llanos.
*Our horses – all local breeds – are gentle yet forward going, well behaved and perfectly
trained, loved by novices and experienced riders alike.*
We enjoy the sunrise's colours and the birds' cackling at the first farm as we lasso the horses to ride across pastures and tropical forests. We spend the morning exploring two smaller farms, meeting and greeting with locals and reach the third farm in the afternoon. Having saddled off the horses, we hang up our hammocks for the first night and set out into the gallery forest to spot monkeys, parrots and other wildlife at dusk.
After breakfast we set off for our ride across various cattle farms, crossing rivers and lagoons and exploring gallery forests and savannas rich in wildlife. We reach Finca La Independencia for lunch, snooze in the hammock under the palm roof to let midday's heat cease and continue to herd some cattle by horse in the afternoon during sunset. Gathering around the fire in the evening we hear tales from the Llanos before our heads hit the hammock again for a well deserved rest.
The last stage of the tour takes us across savanna and savanna forests of the cattle ranch. We cross wetlands and open farm land before reaching the finca's main house again for lunch. A musical and cultural Llanero show awaits us in the garden with sundowners. As the sun sets we are already reminiscing of a view days in the saddle!
