ANDRÈS GONZÀLEZ PÈREZ
Andrés' maternal family explored great parts of the Eastern Andes and Llanos before settling in Yopal in the thirties as one of the first families. A Llanero by birth, Andrés is happiest when introducing travellers to the local lifestyle, stalking wildlife and engaging with local communities and farmers. Having studied and worked in the UK for a couple of years only strengthened the attachment to his roots and inspired Andrés to found an enterprise that would connect travellers with Llaneros and propel tourism in the area. The former engineer is passionate about sustainability, cycling and Colombian food (possibly in reverse order).
Julia made her stint into cowboy life over a decade ago as a farm hand on an Australian cattle station arising from a lifelong passion for horses. Originally from Germany, Julia has travelled, studied and worked in various countries before following curiosity (and husband Andrés) to Colombia in 2014. Since then she has learned to get up before sunrise, to lasso horses and developed a passion (read: obsession) for wildlife. Fueled by Colombian coffee, the country's 'magical realism' and her background in journalism and public relations Julia regularly feeds our Blog & Travel Guide with fresh content and will keep you posted via our newsletter.
Reliable, strong and healthy horses for experienced riders and novices make our horse treks enjoyable, safe and fun. Outside all year round grazing on extensive pastures they are well-spirited and feisty horses. They trot and canter and even swim and are a pleasure to ride. But first... we'll have to catch them with the lasso!
