Towering lush Andean mountains suddenly drop into endless flatlands, the "green ocean" that are Los Llanos. Yopal is located right at the foot of the Eastern Andes and looking out into the Llanos, the perfect gateway to explore both sceneries.
Hike in tropical mountain jungle, marvel at colourful butterflies and birds and unwind on a terrace with a view at Hacienda Las Cumbres. The next morning catch your horse with a lasso and set out to explore savannas, gallery forests and lagoons in the Llanos - on foot if horses are not your fancy. Observe hawks, herons, ibises, burrowing owls and keep your eyes peeled for anteaters and monkeys.
